China has now upstaged Germany and taken over the 4th position in the global music market. The main point is not how big the markets are but how fast they are all growing. At #1 The USA has grown 3.3%, #2 Japan has grown 8.9%, #3 The UK at 4.8% and #4 China at 20.1% with #5 Germany trailing behind at 1.7%.
With China's fast growth over the last few years, rising from 6th to 5th in 2023 and now 4th this year, China may have a real shot at the second position overtaking Japan bby 2029.
