How do I promote my music in China?

Once your music has reached China, it's a good idea to promote it. 

We have 6 Different types of promotion services: New Release Banner Promotion, Social Media Promotion, Social Media Promotion Pro, Video Sharing, Playlist Promotion, and Monthly Promotion.

New Music Banner Promotion

Every new music release has the possibility to be chosen for banner promotion on the streaming sites. Your new music may be chosen for front page banner or added to new release chart. This is a service provided to all our distribution customers. 

Social Media Promotion

Is for the platform Weibo, which is a microblogging site. Each purchase of this service is for one post only. Artists can use a description of up to 100 words and add 2-3 pictures and a link to their music or the music video they may choose to promote. It is best to promote singles videos or albums with this style of promotion. 

Once your social media promotion post has been published, it takes about 5 business days for the post to become live on Chinese social media. A few days after your post is live, you should receive an email of a screenshot of your post with stats. Please be sure to check your junk, spam or promotions folders for an email from us.

Social Media Promotion Pro 

Is for 5 social media platforms (Wechat, Tencent News, QQ Kandian and Kuai Bao), and this is more in the form of a press release. Each purchase for this service is for one post only. Artists can use up to 500 words in description that will be translated to Chinese, and add a number of pictures with the post itself. In order to use your social media promotion posts, you must first have music (or a music video) distributed on Chinese platforms. 

Once your social media promotion post has been published, it takes about 5 business days for the post to become live on Chinese social media. A few days after your post is live, you should receive an email of a screenshot of your post with stats. Please be sure to check your Junk spam or   promotions folders for an email from us.

Video Sharing

Is where you can have your music video uploaded onto Chinese music platforms. The videos will be uploaded to the following platforms:

QQ Video, Youku, Xigua, UC Kuaishou and Bill Bili (Note: Video platforms like youtube, vimeo and facebook are either banned or non-existent in China)

Playlist promotion

Is a service where you can have your music placed on the top 10/Top20 lists of a given music distribution platform (Note: This service is only for music that is on the Netease streaming platform). The track will be placed on playlists ranging from 100,000 to tens of millions of streams, and the number is still growing.

The Price for playlist promotion is €125, please note this price is without VAT, VAT is 24% for EU customers without VAT number. And there is a €5 invoice handling fee.

Monthly Promotion

This is for artists or record labels who would like to do constant promotion in China and who can open Weibo account or would like to use Musicinfo Weibo account to do the constant promotion. (Country list: China, U.S.A., Canada, Brazil, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, England, France, Russia, India, Thailand, Germany, Italy, Spain, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos). Please make contact if you are interested.

Service Fee: suggested range €199 per month.

The services for monthly promotion range from :

  1. Create artist profiles on QQ, NetEase, etc. streaming services.
  2. Weibo, weekly posts, from 1 to 3 posts per week, depending on how frequent an artist can provide content.
  3. Posts can include pictures, streaming and video links (Chinese services) and short videos.
  4. When artists have live shows, target posts to show cities.WeChat posts via Musicinfo account, 1 to 2 posts, depends on price.
  5. Douyin (Tik Tok) and Kuaishou (Kwai) short videos (less than 1 min) via Musicinfo Account, need to think of the video amount for monthly posts.
  6. NetEase Music short video posts via Musicinfo account.New Release pitch for possible promotion in China, e.g., banner, new release recommendation.
  7. Promotion channel + Qianqian Music statistics update with monthly promotion, the price varies upon what services you need.
