A beneficiary of numerous international scholarships and awards, Dinu-Mihai Stefan is much in demand as a concert soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and piano teacher. Born in Bucharest, Romania in 1988 he graduated with a Masters of Music in Piano Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where he studied under Alexander Ardakov. In 2011 Dinu-Mihai obtained a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Piano Performance at the Royal College of Music, where he studied with Gordon Fergus-Thompson & Niel Immelman and in 2007 he graduated from the "Dinu Lipatti" Music High-School in Bucharest.

​Dinu-Mihai was a student of the prestigious Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg where he received guidance from Frank Wibaut, Aquilles Delle-Vigne, Robert Levin and Ya-Fei Chuang. He also worked in master classes held in the UK and in France with Peter Donohoe, Philip Martin, David Quigley, Victor Sangiorgio, Robert Markham, John Lill, Vladimir Krainev and Pascal Nemirovski.

​Dinu-Mihai is a laureate of national and international competitions, and obtained 3rd prize in the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition 2010. He appeared on National TV on several occasions including the National Final Gala of Eurovision Young Musicians, Bucharest, 2006 and the George Enescu Festival.

​Dinu-Mihai regularly performs on platforms in Romania, Austria, France and in the UK, which include solo recital appearances at the prestigious Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, at the Blüthner Piano Centre in London and at the Culture Palace in Targu Mures.

​He had his orchestral debut in 2005 with the "Mihail Jora" Philharmonic in Bacau, Romania under Leonard Boga. Since then he has performed concertos regularly with the Chamber Orchestra of the National Music University in Bucharest, with the "Paul Constantinescu" Philharmonic in Ploiesti, with the Sussex Concert Orchestra in Hastings, with the Pitesti Philharmonic, with the National Radio Chamber Orchestra in Bucharest, with the "Ion Dumitrescu" Philharmonic in Ramnicu Valcea, with the Botosani State Philharmonic and with the "Mihail Jora" Philharmonic in Bacau under conductors Ovidiu Balan, Radu Postavaru, Dorel Pascu-Radulescu, Ramiro Arista, Kenneth Roberts, Cristian Brancusi, Pascal Lacombe, François-Robert Girolami, George Hariton, Ken Yanagisawa and Aurel Balae.

​In May 2014, Dinu-Mihai released his debut commercial album on all major digital stores and music streaming services around the world, Just Another Spring in London, which includes recorded piano music of composers such as Bach, Liszt, Scriabin and Enescu. Since then he has released his album Made in Trinity, which encompasses the music of Beethoven and Rachmaninoff. In July 2016, Dinu-Mihai released his third album, The Gift of Soothing Piano, which includes famous works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Tchaikovsky and which became instantly a major success on online streaming platforms such as Spotify and Deezer.

​In August 2016, Dinu-Mihai released yet another album, Evolution... , which contains music by Philip Glass in a tribute to the composer's work in classical music. Dinu-Mihai continued his quest to finding new audiences online and released his new album, Liszt: Sonata in B Minor S. 178, in November 2016.

In November 2018, Dinu-Mihai released another album, Centennial Golden Leaves, containing two well-known piano sonatas by Beethoven, to mark 100 years since the end of World War One.

​Dinu-Mihai's latest album, The Gift of Soothing Piano Volume II, was released in February 2019 and contains Schubert's Six Moments Musicaux D. 780, and Mozart's Piano Sonata in C Minor K 457, one of the two sonatas for piano written by the composer in a minor key.

​Undoubtedly, Dinu-Mihai's public is never left emotionally detached from the music but it is swept up in the passion, intensity and sensitivity of his playing which takes them on a journey from the most intimate and tender senses to the dramatic pinnacles of life's greatest moments. All encounters with him are virtuoso performances that always leave the listener affectionately satisfied yet still awaiting more.
